Amendments of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.
Regulation 112a is amended—
(1.) by omitting sub-regulations (4.) and (5.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulation:—
“(4.) The transfer or promotion of an officer to a position of Clerk (Audit), Grade 3, or Inspector, Auditor-General's Office, shall be dependent upon evidence to the satisfaction of the Permanent Head, or the Board, as the case may be, that the officer has passed the Final examination of an Institute of Accountants recognized by the Board, or has successfully completed a University course in Commerce or Economics, including all Auditing and Accountancy subjects in the, course, except specialized Cost Accounting:
Provided that any Clerk (Audit), Grade 2, who, prior to the twenty-fourth day of January, 1936, had passed the Intermediate examination of an Institute of Accountants recognized by the Board, may be deemed to be eligible for promotion as Clerk (Audit), Grade 3, if the Board is satisfied that he is diligently pursuing his studies to acquire the prescribed qualifications for promotion to that position.”
(2.) by omitting sub-regulation (6.).
