STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATION UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1902–1916.
I, SIR JOHN MADDEN, acting as the
Deputy of the Governor-General, in accordance with the provisions of the
constitution, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby
make the following Regulation under the

Amendment of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.
The Public Service Regulations are amended by the insertion after Regulation 173 (3) of the following sub-Regulation:—
(4). In any case where an officer between 1st July, 1915, and 18th April, 1916, increased the amount of his assurance in accordance with the table prescribed in Regulation 172 in consequence of the maximum salary of his position having been raised by Award of the Commonwealth Court of Conciliation and Arbitration or by amendment of Public Service Regulation 104, such officer may be allowed to reduce the amount of his assurance to the amount for which he would have been required to assure had the maximum salary of his position not been increased by Award of the Arbitration Court or amendment of Regulation 104.
Application for reduction of amount of assurance under the provisions of this sub-Regulation must be made to the Chief Officer within three months of the date of this Regulation, otherwise reduction shall not be allowed: Provided that in the case of officers who are members of the Expeditionary Forces application may be made before the expiration of three months of the date of resumption of duty in the Commonwealth Public Service.
