REGULATION UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1902-1916.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting withthe advice of the Federal Executive Council hereby make the following Regulation under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1902-1916, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.

The Public Service Regulations are amended by the repeal of Regulation 273, and the insertion in lieu thereof of the following:—

273. An officer upon the hearing by a Board of Inquiry of any charge against him shall be entitled to be represented by counsel, attorney, or agent, who may examine witnesses and addressthe Board in the officer’s behalf: Provided that an officer may not be represented by another officer as attorney or agent without the consent of the Chief Officer or the approval of the Commissioner. Where the Chief Officer withholds such consent he shall refer the question to the Commissioner for determination.
