REGULATION UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1902-1916.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1902-1916, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.

The Public Service Regulations are amended by the repeal of Sub-regulation (1) of Regulation 62, and the insertion in lieu thereof of the following:—

(1) Overtime shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half and the hourly rate shall be ascertained as under.—

 

The minimum rate of payment shall be 1s. per hour. A fraction of a penny in the hourly rate shall not be recorded in computing overtime payment unless it exceeds a halfpenny when one penny shall be allowed in lieu of the fraction. Overtime shall be calculated to the nearest quarter of an hour in the total amount of time to be claimed.
