REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1937.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, on the recommendation of the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, hereby make the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1937.

Amendments of Commonwealth Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations. 

Salaries of officers of the Third Division.

1. Regulation 69 of the Commonwealth Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting sub-regulation (1.) of that regulation and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(1) The limits of salary payable to an officer in any office in the Third Division which is specified in Tables A, B, C, D and E of this regulation shall be the amounts shown in respect of that office in those Tables or in the footnotes relating to those Tables.”

(b) by omitting from Table D in sub-regulation (2.) the following figures and symbol shown opposite the office of Cadet:—

“| 96 | 306 |*”

and inserting in their stead the following figures and symbol:—

| 99 | 312 |‡”;

(c) by omitting the following footnote relating to that Table:—

“*Under 17 years, £96; at 17 years, £108; at 18 years, £120; at 19 years, £144; at 20 years, £168; at 21 years, £222; and thereafter increments of £12 annually.”;

(d) by omitting from Table E in sub-regulation (2.) the following figures and symbols shown opposite the office of Clerk :—

and inserting in their stead the following figures and symbol:—

(e) by omitting from that Table the following figures and symbols shown opposite the office of Clerk, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works:—

“|‡96 |‡ 306 |‡”

and inserting in their stead the following figures:—

“| 312 | 402 | 18”; and

(f) by omitting from the footnotes relating to the Tables in sub-regulation (2.) the following footnote:—

“‡Under 17 years, £96; at 17 years, £108; at 18 years, £120; at 19 years, £144; at 20 years, £168; at 21 years, £222; and thereafter increments of £12 annually.”

and inserting in its stead the following footnote:—

“‡Under 17 years, £99; at 17 years, £111; at 18 years, £123; at 19 years, £147; at 20 years, £171; at 21 years, £228; at 22 years, £240; and thereafter increments of £18 annually.”.

Salaries of officers of the Fourth Division.

2. Regulation 70 of the Commonwealth Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from Table E in sub-regulation (2.) the words—

“Steward”

“Assistant Steward”

“Head Waiter”

and inserting in their stead—

“Chief Steward”

“Second Steward”

“Steward”;

(b) by omitting from that Table the following words and figures:—

“Cleaner.................................................................................. “| 252 | 260 | 8”;

(c) by omitting from that Table the following figures shown opposite the office of Engineer:—

“|404 | 476 |”

and inserting in their stead the following figures:—

“| 468 |528 |”;

(d) by omitting from that Table the following figures shown opposite the office of Assistant Engineer:—

“| 368 | 380 |”

and inserting in their stead the following figures:—

“|378|402|”; and

(e) by omitting from that Table the following figures shown opposite the office of Painter:—

“278|294|8”

and inserting in their stead the following figures:—

“|314|326|12”.
