I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 6 (2) of the Commonwealth Powers (State Banking) Act 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 30 June 1994 as the day on which section 6 (1) of that Act ceases to have effect.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
Section 5 of the Commonwealth Powers (State Banking) Act 1992 refers the matter of State banking in relation to the State Bank Limited, to the extent it is not already included in the legislative powers of the Commonwealth, to the Parliament of the Commonwealth. Section 6 (1) of that Act has the effect of reserving certain matters from the reference under section 5.
This Proclamation appoints a day on which section 6 (1) of the Commonwealth Powers (State Banking) Act 1992 will cease to have effect.
