COMMONWEALTH MOTOR OMNIBUS SERVICES

ORDINANCE

COMMONWEALTH MOTOR OMNIBUS FARES REGULATIONS*

REGULATIONS 1970 No. 11

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on the date fixed under

sub-section (2.) of section 2 of the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Services
Ordinance 19704

2. Regulation 3 of the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from the definition of " child" the words " fourteen

years" and inserting in their stead the words " fifteen years ";

(b) by omitting the definition of "motor omnibus" or "omnibus";

(c) by omitting from the definition of " school child " the words " four-

teen years " and inserting in their stead the words " fifteen years ";

(d) by omitting from the definition of " the full fare " the figure " 5 "

and inserting in its stead the figures and word "4 or 5 "; and

(e) by omitting the definition of " the Transport Manager " and inserting

in its stead the following definition:—

"' the Transport Manager' means the person occupying, or per­ forming the duties of, the office of Manager in the Transport Section of the Facilities Branch of the Department of the Interior.".

3. Regulations 4 and 5 of the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Fares Regu­ lations are repealed and the following regulations inserted in their stead:—

" 4. Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey by a passenger in an omnibus is the amount specified in the second column in the Schedule to these Regulations opposite to the number of sections of which the journey consists specified in the first column of that Schedule.

"5.—(1.) In this regulation, a reference to a Woden limited-stop service shall be read as a reference to a Commonwealth motor omnibus service—

(a) established for passengers travelling on journeys that consist, in whole or in part, of journeys between the Woden Interchange and City or between City and the Woden Interchange; and
(b) the omnibuses engaged on which are marked, whether alone or

with other figures, with the figures "16 ".

" (2.) Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a

journey on a Woden limited-stop service is Fifteen cents if the journey—

(a) is a journey commencing—

(i) at the Woden Interchange; or

(ii)   at an intermediate stopping place between the Woden Inter­

change and City,

and ending—

(iii) at City; or

(iv)   at an intermediate stopping place between the Woden Inter­ change and City; or

(b) is a journey commencing—

(i) at City; or

(ii)   at an intermediate stopping place between City and the Woden Interchange,

and ending—

(iii) at the Woden Interchange; or

(iv)   at an intermediate stopping place between City and the Woden Interchange.

" (3.) Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey on a Woden limited-stop service, being a journey commencing at a stop­ ping place before the Woden Interchange and continuing on the same omnibus beyond the Woden Interchange, is the total of—

(a)

the fare that is to be charged, under the last preceding regulation, for a journey commencing at that stopping place and ending at the Woden Interchange; and

(b) the sum of Fifteen cents.

" (4 . ) Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a

journey on a Woden limited-stop service, being a journey commencing—

(a) at City; or

(b)

at an intermediate stopping place between City and the Woden Interchange,

and continuing on the same omnibus beyond the Woden Interchange, is the total

of—

(c) the sum of Fifteen cents; and

(d)

the fare that is to be charged, under the last preceding regulation, for a journey commencing at the Woden Interchange and ending at the stopping place at which the journey is to cease.

" 5A. The price payable for a monthly ticket is Eight dollars. ".

4 . Regulation 6 of the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is

amended by adding at the end of sub-regulation (1.) the words "plus, if the

is amended—

(a)

by adding at the end of sub-regulation (1.) the words "plus, if the journey is a journey referred to in sub-regulation (3.) or (4.) of regulation 5 of these Regulations, Five cents ".

(b)

by inserting in sub-regulation (2.) after the words ", Australian National University ", the words " , the Canberra College of Advanced Education ";

(c)

by omitting from paragraph (a) of that sub-regulation the words " or College " and inserting in their stead the words " or either of those Colleges";

(d)

by omitting from paragraph (6) of that sub-regulation the words " or College " (first occurring) and inserting in their stead the words " or either of those Colleges ";

(e) by adding at the end of that sub-regulation the words " plus, if the journey is a journey referred to in sub-regulation (3.) or (4.) of regulation 5 of these Regulations, Five cents "; and

(/) by omitting from sub-regulation (2A.) the words " more than six sections " and inserting in their stead the words " six sections or more plus, if the journey is a journey referred to in sub-regulation (3.) or (4.) of these Regulations, Five cents ".

5. Regulation 9A of the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is

repealed.

6. Regulation 11 of the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations

is repealed.

7. The Schedule to the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations

is repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—
