[ASSENTED TO 16TH DECEMBER, 1931.J B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled~ and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title_ 1. This Act may be cited as *"The Commonwealth Legislative Power Act, 1931," and shall come into force on a date to be fixed by the Governor in Council by Proclamation published in the Gazette. Reference to 2. The Parliament of the State of Queensland wCoemalmthon- hereby refers to the Parliament of the Commonwealth of certain power to make laws for the peace, order, and good lpeogwiselra.tive government of the Commonwealth with respect to the following matter, namely:- The compulsory conversion of existing securities into new securities within the meaning of these terms as defined in the Commonwealth Act known as the Commonwealth Debt Con- version Act, 1931, in the cases where any such existing securities have not been converted into new securities in accordance with the provisions of the saidAct, and notwithstanding that any holders of those existing securities have signified or may signify their dissent under the said provisions. Saving. For the purposes of this section, the term "existing securities" does not include any Treasury bills or securities mentioned in the proviso to clause three of the Agreement contained in the Schedule to t"The Debt Conversion (Further Agreement) Act of 1931." * Act proclaimed in force from 7th January, 1932.
