1  Name

This is the Commonwealth Electoral (Logo Requirements) Determination 2016.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 126(2AB) of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

4  Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

CMYK (short for Cyan‑Magenta‑Yellow‑Black) is a colour model used in printing.

5  Requirements for a logo set out in an application

For subsection 126(2AB) of the Act, a logo in an application must meet the following requirements:

(a)  be a vector graphic in electronic format;

(b)  be 100% black in a CMYK colour space;

(c)  be contained within a frame of 10 mm by 10 mm;

(d)  be able to be reproduced correctly within a frame of 7 mm by 7 mm;

(e)  not include these features:

(i)  live text; and

(ii)  transparency or overprinting; and

(iii)  custom halftone, transfer curve or colour profile settings;

(f)  be a PDF file, of less than 5 megabytes, that complies with International Standard ISO 32000‑1:2008 as in force at the time this instrument commences.
