(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Banks Act 1959.

Repeal of regulation 3

1. Regulation 3 of the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is repealed.

Heading to Part II

2. The heading to Part II of the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is amended by omitting “TRADING” and substituting “COMMONWEALTH”.

Interpretation

3. Regulation 5 of the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is amended by omitting “Trading” and substituting “Commonwealth”.

Secrecy

4. Regulation 34 of the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “Trading” and substituting “Commonwealth”.

5. Regulation 35 of the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Borrowing by officers

“35. The amount of $12,000 is prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 111 (3) of the Act.”.

Prescribed form of financial statements

6. Regulation 36 of the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

“(1) Subject to sub-regulation (2), for the purposes of paragraph 121 (1) (b) of the Act—

(a) Form B is the prescribed form in respect of the Corporation;

(b) Forms A and B in the Second Schedule to the Banking Act 1959 are prescribed in respect of the Commonwealth Bank and the Development Bank; and

(c) Forms B and G in the Second Schedule to the Banking Act 1959 are prescribed in respect of the Savings Bank.”.

7. The Schedule to the Commonwealth Banks Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from Form A “Trading”;

(b) by omitting Form B and substituting the following form:
