Commonwealth Banks Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Banks Act 1959.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 2 April 1991.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Commonwealth Banks Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   New regulation 37

3.1   After regulation 36, insert:

Section 4 of the Act—definition of “Securities Commission”—prescribed date

“37.

For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of ‘Securities Commission’ in section 4 of the Act, the date prescribed is 1 January 1991.”.
