REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH BANKS

ACT 19591

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Banks Act 1959.

AMENDMENTS OF THE COMMONWEALTH BANKING

CORPORATION SERVICE REGULATIONS2

1 Regulation 6 of the Commonwealth Banking Corporation Service Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Appointments without entrance examination

  • “6.

    For the purposes of sub-section 90 (2) of the Act—

    • (a)

      each of the positions specified in the Schedule; and

    • (b)

      the class of positions comprising positions at a branch or agency outside Australia of the Corporation, the Trading Bank or the Savings Bank,

are prescribed.”.

2Nominations

Regulation 15 of the Commonwealth Banking Corporation Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “attained the age of twenty-one years” and substituting “been an officer for not less than 5 years”.

3Evidence

Regulation 38 of the Commonwealth Banking Corporation Service Regulations is amended—

  • (a)

    by omitting from sub-regulation (4) “Fifty pounds” and substituting “$100”; and

  • (b)

    by omitting from sub-regulation (6) “Fifty pounds” and substituting “$100”.

4False testimony

Regulation 39 of the Commonwealth Banking Corporation Service Regulations is amended by omitting “Fifty pounds” and substituting “$100”.

5Schedule

 The Commonwealth Banking Corporation Service Regulations are amended by adding at the end thereof the following Schedule:
