Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Common Law Practice Act Amendment Act 1970. (2) The Common Law Practice Act of 1867 as amended from time to time is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Common Law Practice Act 1867-1970.

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended- (a) by inserting after the word " stepmother " the words " and any person standing in loco parentis to another "; and (b) by inserting after the word " stepdaughter " the words " and any person to whom another stands in loco parentis ".
