COMMERCIAL VESSELS ACT 1979 - REGULATION

(Relating to fees in connection with

certificates of competency)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Commercial Vessels Act 1979, has been pleased to approve the Regulation made by the Maritime Services Board of New South Wales and set forth hereunder.

The Maritime Services Board of New South Wales, in pursuance of the Commercial Vessels Act 1979, hereby makes the following Regulation:

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 10 August 1990.

Amendments

2. The Commercial Vessels (Certificates of Competency and Safety Manning) Regulation 1986 is amended by omitting Schedule 3 and by inserting instead the following Schedule:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Commercial Vessels (Certificates

of Competency and Safety Manning) Regulation 1986 to increase the fees payable:

(a) in respect of examinations for certificates of competency, and

(b)

in respect of the issue, recognition and revalidation of certificates of competency, and

(c) in respect of miscellaneous fees.

The matters for which fees are to be payable under the proposed Schedule 3 are

substantially the same as those set out in the existing Schedule 3.
