STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMERCE (TRADE DESCRIPTIONS) ACT 1905.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over
the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the

Amendment of the Commerce Regulations 1913.
(Statutory Rules 1913, No. 347.)
1. Regulation 8 is amended by omitting paragraph (
k ), and inserting in its stead the following paragraph: —“(
k ) In the case of leather containing any loading of any mineral or other weighting substance, the trade description shall include a statement setting out the name of each loading substance contained in the leather, and the percentage thereof. Provided that the following shall not be deemed to be loading substances within the meaning of this Regulation:—Glucose and sugar to the extent of not more than 3 per cent. taken together, and fats and oils used in the manufacture and preparation of the leather.”2. Regulation 13 is amended by omitting paragraph (
k ), and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—“(
k ) In the case of leather containing any loading of any mineral or other weighting substance, the trade description shall include a statement setting out the name of each loading substance contained in the leather, and the percentage thereof. Provided that the following shall not be deemed to be loading substances within the meaning of this Regulation:—Glucose and sugar to the extent of not more than 3 per cent., taken together, and fats and oils used in the manufacture and preparation of the leather.”

3. Regulation 27 is amended by omitting paragraph (
b ), and inserting in its stead the following paragraph: —“(
b ) In the case of leather—whether it contains any loading of any mineral or other weighting substance, and if it contains any such substance, the name of the substance and the percentage thereof. Provided that the following shall not be deemed to be loading substances within the meaning of this Regulation: —Glucose and sugar to the extent of not more than 3 per cent., taken together, and fats and oils used in the manufacture and preparation of the leather.”4. Regulation 40 is cancelled and the following Regulation substituted in its stead:—
40. In the case of all butter and cheese submitted for grade marking for export, and graded at over 89 points, or in the case of butter at under 80 points and in the case of cheese at under 75 points, the Officer shall apply to the outer covering an official grade mark as follows: —
Butter and Cheese graded at 95 to 100 points—
Superfine. Butter and Cheese graded at 90 to 94 points—
First Grade Butter graded at under 80 points—
Pastry. Cheese graded at under 75 points—
Below Standard.”
