Commencement Proclamation

under the

Casino Control Amendment Act 2018 No 8

I, the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Casino Control Amendment Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2020 as the day on which Schedule 1[28] to that Act commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence an amendment to the Casino Control Act 1992 to provide that a casino operator (or an agent of the operator or casino employee) may, in the case of a person who is not ordinarily a resident in Australia, extend any form of credit to the person to enable the person to participate in a premium player arrangement or a junket approved by the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority.
