Commencement Proclamation

under the

Racing Legislation Amendment Act 2019 No 12

MARGARET BEAZLEY, Governor

I, the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2(1) of the Racing Legislation Amendment Act

2019, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint—

(a)	1 January 2020 as the day on which Schedules 1[1], 2[1] (to the extent that it inserts Division 5 of Part 2A of the Thoroughbred Racing Act 1996), 3 and 4 to that Act commence, and
(b)	1 February 2020 as the day on which the remaining uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence amendments made by the Racing Legislation Amendment

Act 2019 to the following legislation—

(a)	the Harness Racing Act 2009,
(b)	the Thoroughbred Racing Act 1996,
(c)	the Betting and Racing Act 1998,
(d)	the Racing Appeals Tribunal Act 1983.
