Commencement Proclamation

under the

Retirement Villages Amendment Act 2018 No 77

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Retirement Villages

Amendment Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 11 February 2019 as the day on which

Schedule 1 [10] and [17]–[20] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain provisions of the Retirement Villages Amendment
Act 2018 that amend the Retirement Villages Act 1999:
(a) to enable the regulations:

(i)         to prescribe rules of conduct for retirement village operators, and

(ii)       to provide for the provision, sharing and publication of certain information about retirement villages, and

(iii)      to provide for the mediation of disputes arising under the Retirement Villages Act 1999, and

(b) to make related and consequential amendments.
