Commencement Proclamation

under the

Fair Trading Legislation Amendment (Reform) Act 2018 No 65

I, the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Fair Trading Legislation

Amendment (Reform) Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

1 July 2019 as the day on which Schedule 2.1 [6] and the uncommenced provisions of Schedule 5 to that Act commence, and

(b) 1 October 2019 as the day on which Schedule 4.5 to that Act commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain provisions of the Fair Trading Legislation
Amendment (Reform) Act 2018, in particular:

(a)

to commence, on 1 July 2019, amendments to the Architects Act 2003 in relation to the removal of architect’s names from the register of architects, and

(b) to commence, on 1 July 2019, amendments to the Conveyancers Licensing Act 2003, the Property,

Stock and Business Agents Act 2002 and the Property, Stock and Business Agents Amendment

(Property Industry Reform) Act 2018 in relation to record keeping requirements, and

(c)

to commence, on 1 October 2019, amendments to the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 in relation to agreements for the supply of electricity, gas or other utilities with owners corporations.
