Commencement Proclamation

under the

Residential Tenancies Amendment (Review) Act 2018 No 58

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Residential Tenancies

Amendment (Review) Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 28 February 2019 as the day

on which Schedule 1 [30] to that Act commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence a provision of the Residential Tenancies Amendment
(Review) Act 2018 that removes a provision that provides for the early termination of a fixed term residential
tenancy agreement without paying compensation to the landlord on grounds that a co-tenant or occupant is
prohibited by a final apprehended violence order from having access to the residential premises.
