Civil Liability Amendment (Organisational Child Abuse Liability) Act 2018

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Civil Liability

Amendment (Organisational Child Abuse Liability) Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation,
appoint 1 January 2019 as the day on which Schedule 1 [4] (to the extent that it inserts Division 4

of Part 1B) to that Act commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence an amendment to the Civil Liability Act 2002 that permits plaintiffs to bring civil proceedings against unincorporated organisations.
