Commencement Proclamation

under the

Government Telecommunications Act 2018 No 67

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Government

Telecommunications Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 17 December 2018 as the day

on which that Act (except section 16 and Part 3 of Schedule 1) commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the whole of the Government Telecommunications Act

2018, except section 16 and Part 3 of Schedule 1.

Section 16 requires Government sector agencies to use the Government telecommunications network for operational communications requiring the use of a telecommunications network.

Clause 5 of Schedule 1 to the Act provides that Part 3 of that Schedule commences, or is taken to have commenced, on the commencement of Division 6.4 of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018.
