I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Workers

Compensation Legislation Amendment (Firefighters) Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation,
appoint 7 December 2018 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act

commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Workers Compensation

Legislation Amendment (Firefighters) Act 2018, which establish presumptive rights to workers

compensation for firefighters in respect of certain cancers.
