Commencement Proclamation

under the

Government Sector Finance Act 2018 No 55

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 1.2 (1) of the Government Sector

Finance Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 December 2018 as the day on which

the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Parts 1–3,
(b) sections 5.1, 5.2 and 5.5,
(c) Part 6,
(d) Part 8,
(e) Divisions 9.1–9.3,
(f) Division 9.4 (except section 9.15),
(g) section 10.2.

Explanatory note

(b) sections 5.1. 5.2 and 5.5 (which deal with Budget control authorities, delegations of appropriation expenditures and other expenditure limits),
(c) Part 6 (which deals with financial services and arrangements),
(d) Part 8 (which deals with the keeping of performance records and other information in respect of GSF agencies),
(e) Divisions 9.1–9.3 (which deal with the administration of the Act, including information sharing and delegations and documents),
(f) Division 9.4, except section 9.15 (which enables civil recovery for loss of resources because of misconduct by persons handling government resources),
(g) section 10.2 (which provides for exemptions for the purposes of the Act from duty under the Duties

Act 1997).

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the following provisions of the Government Sector Finance
Act 2018:
(a) Parts 1–3 (which deal with interpretative provisions for the purposes of the Act and the roles and responsibilities of the Treasurer, accountable authorities for GSF agencies and government officers),
