Commencement Proclamation

under the

Road Transport Legislation Amendment (Penalties and Other Sanctions)

Act 2018 No 54

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Road Transport

Legislation Amendment (Penalties and Other Sanctions) Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation,

appoint:

(a) 3 December 2018 as the day on which Schedule 1 [2], [10], [12]–[15] and [20] and
Schedule 2.4 to that Act commence, and
(b) 20 May 2019 as the day on which Schedule 1 [1], [3]–[9], [11] and [17]–[19], and
Schedule 2.1–2.3, to that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments made by the Road Transport Legislation
Amendment (Penalties and Other Sanctions) Act 2018 on either 3 December 2018 or 20 May 2019 (except
for amendments relating to requiring persons convicted of certain alcohol or other drug related driving
offences to undertake education programs).
