Commencement Proclamation

under the

Fisheries Management Amendment Act 2015 No 59

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Fisheries Management

Amendment Act 2015, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2018 as the day on which

Schedule 1 [6], [17], [41], [42], [61], [62], [127], [129] and [153] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence amendments to the Fisheries Management Act 1994, including amendments that:
(a) provide that a fishing boat licence is only required for certain commercial fishing boat activities, and
(b) remove the requirement for commercial fishing crew to be registered, and
(c) prohibit shark finning and related practices at sea.
