Commencement Proclamation

under the

Justice Legislation Amendment Act 2018 No 4

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Justice Legislation

Amendment Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a) 16 April 2018 as the day on which Schedule 1.5 [3], [5] and [9] to that Act commence, and

(b)

2 July 2018 as the day on which the remaining uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Proclamation are:

(a)

to commence on 16 April 2018 amendments to the Criminal Procedure Act 1986 that provide that the indictable offences of recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime and perverting the course of justice may be dealt with summarily, and

(b) to commence on 2 July 2018 the remaining uncommenced provisions of the Justice Legislation

Amendment Act 2018.
