Commencement Proclamation

under the

Home Building Amendment (Compensation Reform) Act 2017 No 28

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Home Building

Amendment (Compensation Reform) Act 2017, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)	1 September 2018 as the day on which Schedule 1 [43] to that Act commences, and
(b)	1 January 2018 as the day on which the other uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced amendments to the Home Building Act

1989, including amendments relating to home warranty insurance, the provision of alternative indemnity

products and the licensing of insurers and providers of alternative indemnity products.
