Commencement Proclamation

under the

Health Practitioner Regulation Amendment Act 2017 No 50

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Health Practitioner

Regulation Amendment Act 2017, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 8 January 2018 as the day

on which that Act commences except for the following:

(a) Schedule 1 [4]–[7],
(b) Schedule 3 [1],
(c) Schedule 5.18.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Health Practitioner Regulation Amendment Act 2017 other than provisions relating to the following:
(a) the prescription of review bodies in New South Wales for decisions made under section 127A of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law,
(b) the notification by a National Board of decisions to take health, conduct or performance action against registered health practitioners,
(c) the prevention of persons using the title paramedic.
