Commencement Proclamation

under the

Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016 No 34

THOMAS FREDERICK BATHURST, Lieutenant-Governor

with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Point to Point I, the Honourable Thomas Frederick Bathurst AC, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales,
Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November
2017 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:
(a) Parts 2–8,
(b) Schedules 1, 2 (other than clause 1), 5 (other than Schedule 5 [25]), 6 and 7.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions with respect to the safety and authorisation
requirements for taxi services and booking services, fare procedures and the enforcement of requirements relating to taxi services and booking services. The Proclamation also commences other ancillary provisions, including consequential amendments of other legislation.
