under the

Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Amendment (Container Deposit

Scheme) Act 2016 No 57

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Waste Avoidance and

Resource Recovery Amendment (Container Deposit Scheme) Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 August 2017 as the day on which Schedule 1 [3] of that Act, to the extent that it inserts the heading to Division 3 of Part 5 and section 40 into the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2001, commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to insert section 40 into the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2001. That section makes provision with respect to container approvals for the purposes of the container deposit scheme established by that Act.
