Commencement Proclamation

under the

Transport Administration Amendment (Transport Entities) Act 2017 No 12

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Transport Administration

Amendment (Transport Entities) Act 2017, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2017 as the day on which Schedule 1 to that Act commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence Schedule 1 to the Transport Administration Amendment (Transport Entities) Act 2017 which makes amendments to various Acts and regulations for the following purposes:
(a) to provide that NSW Trains and Sydney Trains are not subsidiaries of Rail Corporation New South Wales,
(b) to establish a new corporation named Residual Transport Corporation,
(c) to provide for the objectives, functions and management of those entities,
(d) to make amendments that are consequential on the amendments referred to in paragraphs (a)–(c).
