Commencement Proclamation

under the

Home Building Amendment (Compensation Reform) Act 2017

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Home Building
Amendment (Compensation Reform) Act 2017, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 30 June 2017 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Schedule 1, [4], [17]–[19], [23], [24], [34], [62], [63], [84] (to the extent that it repeals the
definition of Administration Corporation), [85] (to the extent that it inserts the definition
of Authority) and [86],
(b) Schedules 2.1, 2.2, 2.4 and 2.5.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence those provisions of the Home Building Amendment (Compensation Reform) Act 2017 that confer certain functions on the State Insurance Regulatory Authority and repeal provisions that constitute the Fair Trading Administration Corporation and establish the Fair Trading Administration Corporation General Account. Certain machinery provisions and consequential amendments are also commenced.
