Commencement Proclamation

under the

Regulatory and Other Legislation (Amendments and Repeals) Act 2016

No 60

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Regulatory and Other

Legislation (Amendments and Repeals) Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

28 April 2017 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of Schedule 2.4 and the uncommenced portion of Schedule 3 commence, and

(b) 1 July 2017 as the day on which Schedule 2.3 commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Regulatory Reform and Other Legislation
(Amendments and Repeals) Act 2016 that:
(a) repeal provisions of the Architects Act 2003, Architects Regulation 2012 and Building Professionals

Act 2005 that require complaints made under those Acts against architects and accreditation holders to be verified by statutory declaration, and

(b) amend provisions of the Funeral Funds Act 1979 to exempt friendly societies and Crown cemetery trusts from certain registration and related requirements, and
(c) amend provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1987 in relation to the publication of standard retail prices of hydrogen or electricity supplied to motor vehicles.
