Commencement Proclamation

under the

Law Enforcement Conduct Commission Act 2016 No 61

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 13 January 2017 as the day on which Schedule 6.35 [1], [11]–[13], [15] and [17] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission
Act 2016 that amend the Ombudsman Act 1974 in relation to the constitution of the Joint Committee and the
power of the Joint Committee to veto proposals to appoint persons to certain roles, including the role of
Chief or other Commissioner of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission or Inspector of the Law
Enforcement Conduct Commission.
