Commencement Proclamation

under the

Passenger Transport Act 2014 No 46

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Passenger Transport Act 2014, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 March 2016 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Division 1 of Part 3,

(b)

section 179, to the extent that it repeals Part 3 and Division 2 of Part 5 of the Passenger Transport Act 1990,

(c) clause 11 of Schedule 3,
(d) Schedule 4.5.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Proclamation are:
(a) to commence provisions relating to passenger service contracts for public passenger services and to repeal provisions formerly applying to such contracts, and
(b) as a consequence of an earlier commencement of provisions relating to fares, to repeal the standing reference given to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal for Rail Corporation New South Wales, State Transit Authority and Sydney Ferries.
