Commencement Proclamation

under the

Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016 No 42

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)	16 December 2016 as the day on which Part 1 and sections 6–9, 11 and 26–28 of that Act commence, and
(b)	1 March 2017 as the day on which the remainder of that Act commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016 on 16 December 2016

with the exception of most of the offence provisions and the enforcement provisions (which will commence
on 1 March 2017).
