Commencement Proclamation

under the

Government Sector Employment Legislation Amendment Act 2016 No 2

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Government Sector

Employment Legislation Amendment Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)	1 April 2017 as the day on which Schedule 1 [75] and Schedule 5.5 to that Act commence, and
(b)	1 July 2017 as the day on which Schedule 4 and Schedule 5.6 to that Act commence, and
(c)	31 October 2017 as the day on which Schedule 1 [52], [58] and [60], Schedule 3 and Schedule 5.4 [1]–[3] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments made by the Government Sector
Employment Legislation Amendment Act 2016 (the amending Act):

(a) that align the employment arrangements for senior executives in the NSW Police Force and the

Transport Service of New South Wales with the new employment arrangements for Public Service senior executives under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013, and

(b) that confer power on the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust to employ staff.

The amendments made by Schedule 2 to the amending Act to the Health Services Act 1997 that align the
employment arrangements for senior executives in the NSW Health Services with those applying to Public
Service senior executives commence on 1 January 2017 (see section 2 (1) of the amending Act).
