Commencement Proclamation

under the

Crimes (Administration of Sentences) Amendment Act 2016 No 47

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Crimes (Administration
of Sentences) Amendment Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 8 December 2016 as the

day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Schedule 1 [1]–[11], [13], [15], [16] and [18],
(b) Schedule 2.1 [1].

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain amendments made by the Crimes (Administration
of Sentences) Amendment Act 2016 to the Crimes (Administration of Sentences) Act 1999 and the Crimes
(Administration of Sentences) Regulation 2014 in relation to the following matters:
(a) Visiting Magistrates,
(b) the prohibition on disclosure of information (including the penalty applying to the prohibition),
(c) references to certain entities.
