under the

Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Amendment (Container Deposit

Scheme) Act 2016 No 57

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Waste Avoidance and

Resource Recovery Amendment (Container Deposit Scheme) Act 2016, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 17 November 2016 as the day on which that Act commences (except Schedule 1 [3] to the extent that it inserts Division 3 of Part 5 of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2001).

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence all the provisions of the Waste Avoidance and Resource
Recovery Amendment (Container Deposit Scheme) Act 2016 other than provisions relating to:
(a) the regulation of the supply of beverage containers, and
(b) the entitlement to the payment of refund amounts for the collection of beverage containers at collection points.
