I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Mining and Petroleum Legislation Amendment (Harmonisation) Act 2015, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 18 December 2015 as the day on which Schedule 2 [23] to that Act commences.

| The object of this Proclamation is to commence an amendment made by the Mining and Petroleum Legislation Amendment (Harmonisation) Act 2015 to the Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991 that confers on the holder of an exploration licence or assessment lease the right to carry out certain operations to enable the beneficial use of gas recovered from land (that would otherwise have been flared or released into the atmosphere) and the right to use that gas subject to, and in accordance with, the regulations. |
