Commencement Proclamation

under the

Workers Compensation Amendment Act 2015 No 18

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Workers Compensation Amendment Act 2015, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 4 December 2015 as the day on which Schedules 2 [2]–[13], [14] (except to the extent that it inserts section 44BF), [16], [19] and [20] and 3 [4] commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence amendments to the Workers Compensation Act 1987 that relate to:
(a) the minimum weekly amount of compensation payable in respect of a worker with highest needs, and
(b) the removal of an eligibility test for weekly payments of compensation requiring a worker to work a minimum number of hours and earn a minimum amount, and
(c) the stay of a work capacity decision, and
(d) the removal of certain limitations on the payment of compensation for medical and related expenses.
