Commencement Proclamation

under the

Workers Compensation Amendment Act 2015 No 18

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Workers Compensation Amendment Act 2015, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 16 October 2015 as the day on which Schedules 1, 2 [15] and [18], 3 [5] and 5 to that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence amendments to the Workers Compensation Act 1987 that relate to:
(a) increases in, and indexation of, death benefits and lump sum compensation for permanent impairment, and
(b) continued eligibility for weekly payments of compensation after retiring age, and
(c) the referral of medical compensation disputes for medical assessment.
