Commencement Proclamation

under the

Water Management Act 2000 No 92

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Water Management Act 2000, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 21 September 2015 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a)	Schedule 7 in its application to Part 8 of the Water Act 1912,
(b)	clauses 12 and 13 of Schedule 9.

Explanatory note

The objects of this Proclamation are:

(a)	to repeal Part 8 (Flood control works) of the Water Act 1912 consequent on the application of Part 3 of Chapter 3 of the Water Management Act 2000 to flood work approvals throughout the State, and
(b)	to commence certain savings and transitional provisions relating to floodplains and floodplain management plans under the Water Act 1912.
