Commencement Proclamation

under the

Fair Trading Legislation (Repeal and Amendment) Act 2015 No 12

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Fair Trading Legislation (Repeal and Amendment) Act 2015, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)	3 August 2015 as the day on which section 3 (b) of, and Schedules 1 [8], [10], [18], 3.2 and 3.5 to, that Act commence, and
(b)	1 October 2015 as the day on which the other uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Fair Trading Legislation (Repeal and Amendment) Act 2015. In particular, provisions relating to the repeal of the Fitness Services (Pre-paid Fees) Act 2000 are commenced on 3 August 2015 and provisions relating to the repeal of the Consumer Claims Act 1998, and the transfer of the substance of that Act to the Fair Trading Act 1987, are commenced on 1 October 2015.
