Commencement Proclamation

under the

Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Amendment Act 2014

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC, Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Amendment Act 2014, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 2014 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) the long title and sections 1 and 2,
(b) Schedule 2,
(c) Schedule 5 (except Schedule 5.4).

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the machinery provisions of the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Amendment Act 2014 and other provisions of that Act that substitute Part 15 of the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 (relating to safeguards applying to the exercise of police powers) and that make consequential amendments to that Act and other legislation.
This Proclamation is made under section 2 of the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities)
Amendment Act 2014.
