Commencement Proclamation

under the

Health Legislation Amendment Act 2012 No 39

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC, Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Health Legislation Amendment Act 2012, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 2014 as the day on which Schedule 1.2 to that Act commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence Schedule 1.2 to the Health Legislation Amendment Act 2012, being the uncommenced provisions of that Act. These provisions amend the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 in relation to the disclosure and use of genetic information, subject to certain conditions.
