Commencement Proclamation

under the

Boarding Houses Act 2012 No 74

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Boarding Houses Act 2012, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 January 2013 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a)	Part 1 (except section 3 (b) and (c)),
(b)	Part 2,
(c)	Part 5 (except section 104),
(d)	Schedule 2 (except Part 2),
(e)	Schedule 3.3 and 3.6.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence those provisions of the Boarding Houses Act 2012 that provide for a registration system for registrable boarding houses and that deal with other miscellaneous matters. The provisions of the Act that provide for occupancy principles to be observed and for the licensing and regulation of assisted boarding houses will remain uncommenced.
