Commencement Proclamation

under the

Police Amendment (Death and Disability) Act 2011 No 73

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Police Amendment (Death and Disability) Act 2011, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 2 March 2012 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the remaining uncommenced provisions of the Police Amendment (Death and Disability) Act 2011 (the amending Act), which contain amendments to the State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987 (the Act). Those amendments provide for the making of regulations with respect to police officers who elect to be covered under an approved insurance policy in accordance with Part 9B of the Police Act 1990, as amended by the amending Act, and to relinquish coverage for the additional benefit for incapacity under the Act.
