Commencement Proclamation

under the

Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment Act 2011
No 63

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment Act 2011, do, by this my Proclamation:

(a)	appoint 6 February 2012 as the day on which Schedule 2 [2]–[11], [13], [14], [19] and [22] and Schedule 3.4 [2]–[4] to that Act commence, and
(b)	appoint 29 February 2012 as the day on which Schedule 1, Schedule 2 [15]–[18] and [24] and Schedule 3.1–3.3, 3.4 [1] and 3.5–3.8 to that Act commence, and
(c)	appoint 31 March 2012 as the day on which Schedule 2 [1], [20], [21] and [23] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence most of the amendments made by the Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment Act 2011. The only amendment not being commenced is one that creates a duty to prepare and implement pollution incident response management plans (Schedule 2 [12]).
